It goes like this...

I’m very excited by this. Very. Excited. And inspired. Can’t wait to see the final product and I’ll honestly probably contribute to the kickstarter for it.

Silhouette Games Release: “Lost Dog” (MAC VERSION!)

Hey, remember last night when you were like “Great post, Danny. Way to make a game that I can’t play on my Mac! Gosh, I hate it when I can’t play things on my Mac!”

Then you heard the reviews?

“Awesome!”

“Hilarious!”

“Surprisingly fun to play[…] There just needs to be more of it.”

And then you sobbed for hours like an idiot?

Remember that?

Well guess what, dummy?

This morning I figured out how to make a version of Lost Dog for Mac using VERGE’s Mac port. So now you can play Lost Dog, too!

So don’t cry, moron. Download and laugh!

Special thanks to Jon Mackey for helping me out by testing it to make sure it worked and grabbing that SWEET Mac screencap. When you’re done playing Lost Dog, tell all your friends, and then check out Jon Mackey’s sweet new website and watch some awesome videos!

Silhouette Games Release: “Lost Dog”

So about a month ago I decided that I wanted to try to put together a visual novel game (in the same vein as 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors), and so I headed back to my roots at the VERGE Community and started trying to make a game.

I decided that I wanted to keep it very simple and just get all of what I considered the basics in there. It would be a simple mystery (a boy loses his dog) and the mystery would be over in about two seconds, but it would have a couple of different alternate endings.

I spoke to my friend Victoria Tao about creating the art for the game, handed her some quick storyboards, and less than 30 days later we have a tech demo that’s available for play:

I have to say that I’m pretty proud of the game as it is, but I’m also looking forward to expanding it in the future. I’m not sure if I’ll stick with VERGE as the engine but for now it’s been fun for the most part and it let me learn a little bit of Lua programming.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the game.

For more information about Silhouette Games and other gaming projects that I have planned, keep an eye on http://www.silhouettegames.com - the official website for Silhouette Games.

Note: Unfortunately for right now the game is only available for PC. Sorry, Macs. :*(

This. Game. Looks. Amazing.

It’s a game called “No Time To Explain” from Tiny Build Games and it just looks like a ridiculous amount of fun - not to mention that the soundtrack makes me incredibly happy.

Looks like it’s going to be available for PC and Mac this summer with XBLA and PSN possibilities in the future.

Check out the video. It’s worth it.

Thanks to Heather Campbell for posting this. It’s pretty great. They did a few others too. Check ‘em out!
