I just rewatched all of Arrested Development recently (feeling that it was now finally safe since the quote comedians of the world have moved on to The Office, Always Sunny, South Park, Family Guy, and somehow still The Simpsons).
It had been so long that I had actually forgotten a lot of my favorite moments and so when this part showed up, I didn’t remember it at all. Jason Bateman’s “Hey!” makes me laugh every time and when it happened, I had to pause it because I couldn’t stop laughing.
God bless you, show. I miss you. But I don’t miss the incessant quoting. I really really don’t. Maybe I’ll watch Billy Madison tomorrow…

I don’t care that it’s sad that he doesn’t like books or that he’s a brat. I admire his convictions about his words. If a politician said “Poo!” to something and then added “I said POO!” I would stand up and applaud. We should all be so strong.
